Families 'Shop With A Cop' In Bainbridge

Updated: Mon 4:57 PM, Mar 25, 2013

Bainbridge, GA - Bainbridge Public Safety officers traded in their badges for shopping carts on Thursday.

The patrolling officers hit the aisles of Walmart to give three families a chance to shop with a cop.

The boys and girls were each given $125 to buy Christmas presents for their family members.

The parents were also treated to grocery shopping so they can prepare a nice holiday meal next week.

"It's just an enormous, wonderful feeling," said Eric Miller, the Bainbridge Public Safety Director. "Words just can't express how excited we are and grateful to the community for all the support they give us throughout the year so it's nice that we can give back."

After the kids filled their carts with goodies, they headed to lunch then back to Bainbridge Public Safety Headquarters.

That's where they wrapped their presents and even got a special visit from Santa.

The folks of Walmart also donated a $100 gift card to each of the families.
