Farm Share Release

Quincy, FL – Farm Share is working hard to feed the hungry and already this week provided more than 64,300 pounds of fresh and nutritious food to families who need help in 14 communities across North Florida.

From its warehouse in Quincy, Farm Share distributed fresh green beans, yellow squash, lettuce, celery, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, cabbage, bananas, eggs, coconut milk, yogurt and more. This highly nutritious food was provided through a network of small non-profit groups working with Farm Share to feed less-fortunate families who reside in 14 towns and in 11 counties.

Communities receiving food from Farm Share this week, included: Tallahassee (Leon), Blountstown (Calhoun), Monticello (Jefferson), Bartow (Polk), Marianna (Jackson), Bristol (Liberty), Quincy (Gadsden), Havana (Gadsden), Eastpoint (Franklin), Carrabelle (Franklin), Sneeds (Jackson), Panama City (Bay), Ochlockonee Bay (Wakulla), Crawfordville (Wakulla).

Groups have picked up food from Farm Share’s Quincy facility 125 times this month and have served nearly 11,000 families. With yet another week in January, the food bank has already surpassed its record.

According to Farm Share’s manager Dave Reynolds, “The good news is that Farm Share continues to bring in and give out more nutritious food. The bad news is that there are so many families that desperately need help.”
