Quincy, FL - Farm Share is partnering with the Florida Department of Children and Families to sponsor a community food distribution on Tuesday, November 5, 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., at the Farm Share facility, 18212 Blue Star Highway, Quincy.
Families from Gadsden, Leon, Liberty, Jefferson, Franklin and Wakulla Counties in need of nutritious food will be provided Farm Share food packages free of charge. Each household will receive a variety of fresh produce and non-perishable food.
In the past year, Farm Share has provided more than $40 million in food to those in poverty in Florida. Most of the food is distributed through a community network of church food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, senior centers, and veterans groups. Farm Share is the largest fresh produce program in Florida and the only statewide and local food bank program that does not charge a fee for any food it provides to community organizations.
