The Bond Community Health Center gave free rapid HIV testing all day today.
Getting tested and knowing your status is something HIV/AIDS counselors say is very important.
"We hope that we can reduce the number of people who contract HIV, but they can only do that if they come in and get tested and get the counseling that they need," says Kelvin Wilson, HIV/AIDS Counselor at Bond Community Health Center.
According to the Florida Department of Health, 1 in 123 adult men was living with HIV/AIDS through 2008. Bond Community Health Center does HIV testing everyday except Sunday.
Bond Community health center is offering free HIV testing.
The free HIV testing will go all day Monday from 9am to 7pm.
The free testing is being offered in observance of National H-I-V testing day.
The results take 20 minutes, and they will be giving away free condoms.
