Future Military Members Auctioned Off on Dates

Florida State University's "Students for America's Military" organization hosted their "Draft a Date" auction Friday night.

The fun-filled event was held at VFW Post 3308 in Tallahassee. Men and women from the school's ROTC program, Marine Officer Candidate Program, and Student Veterans were sold to the highest bidder to raise money for care packages. Those care packages will be sent to our troops currently stationed overseas.

"It's a little awkward but it's all going to the cause that we're doing it for so...suck it up!" said Ryan Gallagher, and ROTC member that was auctioned off on a date.

The organization says they want to raise enough money to send a care package to everyone on their troops address list. Right now, that list sits at 90 members of the military.
