Attendees gathered at the 'Moon' for the 9th Annual Sickle Cell Gala, which raises money for Tallahassee patients living with sickle cell anemia.

The evening featured dinner, live music, and inspiring stories about what the group has accomplished so far.

Says event co-chair Dexter Martin, "We're here to raise awareness, we're here to celebrate life, and we're trying to give the community an opportunity to see what the Sickle Cell Foundation is all about."

Actor Darrin Henson headlined the gala and pledged to spread the word about sickle cell anemia and available treatments.

WCTV's very own Shonda Knight also graced the stage as a hostess for the event.
