Getting Spruced up for Springtime Tallahassee

It's time for the 43rd Annual Springtime Tallahassee Festival, and Downtown Tallahassee is getting spruced up.

As city work crews start setting up Saturday's (April 2) parade, downtown businesses are also getting ready.

Merchants and businesses in Downtown Tallahassee are welcoming guests with their finest bloomers.

Businesses are putting up fresh flowers or creating spring designs to decorate their balconies and windows.

Jim Pittman, Downtown Regions Bank Manager, said, "We want people to see what we have to offer and us being involved and doing things like painting window and stuff. It's just great fun for everybody; all my associates also. We have a good time with it."

The Downtown Merchants and Business Association will be judging the decorations under the theme, "What's Cookin'?"

The Springtime Tallahassee Parade begins at 10:30 a.m. April 2nd.

Come on out and see some of your favorite WCTV faces; or you can watch the parade live on our website at wctv.tv.

I CANT STAND SCOTT. HIS FAKE SMILE. HIS BALD HEAD. HIS GREEDY MIND. HE IS EVIL. HE GETS MONEY FROM HIS PRIVATE FRIENDS. HE ONLY CARES ABOUT SCOTT. HE IS THE WORST GOVERNOR THIS STATE HAS EVER SEEN. IT DOES NOT MATTER IF HE DOESNT GET RE ELECTED BECAUSE 1)HE IS GOING TO DO ALL HIS DAMAGE IN THESE 4 YEARS, 2)HE PROBABLY WILL RUN FOR PRESIDENT. Shame on you if you go to this parade and live in Tallahassee. You or your neighbors will be out of work in about 6-8 months. Mrs. Scott: Is Solantic hiring?

I won't be there either. It's hard to have a good time when the Grand Marshall can smile at you one minute and cut your job and benefits the next. Not my idea of fun. I'll be working. Yes, I love my job and IT IS IMPORTANT even though King Scott does not care about people.

We are not going either. We are going to the Wakulla Wildlife Festival at Wakulla Springs. Not near as crowded, much more enjoyable and no grand marshall voldermort.

You'd have to be crazy to go to this thing given the extreme divisiveness of its grand marshall. We re spending our approx. $100 elsewhere in the area and the vendors can thank the springtime folks when they go broke.

We are not going. That does not mean we are not spending money, we are just spending it elsewhere in the area. When the vendors lose money they can thank the springtime mafia. If you are or do business with a public worker you have to be crazy to support this thing.
