Saturday, June 1, is National Trails Day! What better way to celebrate than taking a walk, stroll, jog, jaunt or any movement you feel comfortable with on one of our local trails? The City’s Parks, Recreation and Neighborhood Affairs Department maintains more than 60 miles of walking trails all over town, from urban oases to off-the-beaten path gems.
In observance of National Trails Day, the Florida Trail Association will be offering guided hikes along shaded, wide, shared use trails in Lafayette Heritage Trail Park. These paths offer spectacular vistas of Upper Lake Lafayette along the way. Three scheduled hikes are planned. Each will begin at the Piney Z Lake parking area located at the end of Heritage Park Blvd. in Piney Z Plantation, which is accessible from Conner Blvd. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.
