Tallahassee, FL — Tobacco related illness is one of the most preventable chronic diseases that exist, killing over 88 Floridians every day. Tobacco Free Leon and Leon County Health Promotion and Tobacco will host a free training for anyone who would like to help build a tobacco-free community in Leon County. Learn about two of the best practices that the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Florida Department of Health have recommended be initiated in Tallahassee.
“We have been working to reduce tobacco use in our community for a long time, but to be successful, we need your help,” said Jo Landrito, director of the Leon County Health Department’s Division of Health Promotion and Tobacco. “Our community must make simple, but important, changes to reduce tobacco use and save lives, including reducing the infant mortality rate. Together we can make a difference.”
