Jersey Mike's Goes Pink

Tallahassee, Florida--

A Tallahassee restaurant is going pink. Jersey Mike's is known for its subs, and now they're hoping to be known for giving back.

A six-month long fundraiser called "Mike's Way to a Cure" is raising money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation from now until October.

Jersey Mike's will have pink cups, and 70 cents of the purchase goes straight to the foundation.

T-shirts will also be sold with 100 percent of the money going to the cause.

Jeff Whitaker is the General Manager of Jersey Mike's. He said, "My owners were affected by it and everyone seems to know somebody now that's been affected by breast cancer, so Susan G. Komen is pretty much the biggest supporter of it so that's why we're supporting the cause."

The carry-out bags and wrappers may be white now, in a few days the stores will be transitioning to all pink.

In October, Jersey Mike's employees will be capping off the fund raising initiative by participating in the Susan G. Komen "Race for the Cure."

There are 2 Jersey Mike's locations in Tallahassee. The one that we went to for this story was at:

1801 West Tennessee Street
Tallahassee, Florida 32304

My daughter is now recovering from a double mastectomy. Me and a niece are also breast cancer survivors. Thank you so much for what you are doing to help this cause. May God Richly Bless You and Your Business. M. Joey, Stephanie, and Donita

This is awesome. Too bad we do not have more businesses doing the same thing around town.
