Beginning Tuesday, January 4 and continuing for approximately 4 months, motorists traveling Capital Circle Northwest will experience lane restrictions from 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. Crews from Peavy & Son Construction will resurface the roadway, improve the sidewalk on the west side near Tower Road and other safety related work.
The $1.2 million project runs from just north of I-10 to State Road 63 (US 27).
In addition to resurfacing work CSX workers will replace the railroad crossing north of Old Bainbridge Road with a new state- of- the- art concrete structure. Work on the crossing is tentatively set to begin Monday, January 10 and should be complete by Friday, January 14. During construction the road will be closed to through traffic. Fred George Road and State Road 63 will be used as a detour route. Signs will be in place to direct drivers around the work zone.
