News Release: Last Hope Rescue
TALLAHASSEE, FL.- Over the last three years the Tallahassee area has become a slightly better place thanks to Last Hope Rescue (LHR), a 501(c)3 animal rescue that works to get animals out of shelters and off the streets and into loving homes. LHR is a local non-profit volunteer-based organization, and through its time serving the community over 400 animals have been saved. They will be inviting the community to come out and join them at Staybridge Suites off of Summit Bridge Drive this weekend as they celebrate three years of rehoming pets that may have never left the shelter otherwise.
To commemorate serving the big bend area for so long LHR is throwing a Three Year Anniversary Party this Saturday, April 5, 2014 from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.. They are expecting over one hundred people to be in attendance, ranging from families to fosters to college students. One event that will take place at this party that has many excited to attend is the huge silent auction that will include great pet (and human) packages from local favorites like Out-U-Go! Pet Care – Tallahassee, MoJo's Friends, Bangles and Baubles, Novare Salon, Uncle Maddio's Pizza Joint on Mahan, and many more. There will also be pet accessories available for sale and mini photo sessions from LNB Photo available throughout the day.
“Last Hope Rescue has been helping the community for the last 3 years, not only by taking animals from our local shelter, rehabbing them and adopting them out into great forever homes but they also help animals they can't take in by courtesy posting, networking and in some cases providing food for families who need it in order to keep their animals. LHR is a very caring rescue, they love their animals and their foster care program is amazing! They do a fantastic job with all their adoptables and we are hoping that the community can come out and support them at this huge milestone!” says Katelyn White, the event planner for the party.
LHR looks to get animals into foster homes, permanent homes, and get them the training or rehabilitation they need in order for them to find their forever homes faster. Through donations they are able to pay for all vetting, food, crates, and other necessities for the pets they take into their rescue until they can get rehomed. They do not ever rehome pets that aren’t fully vetted, so donations and fosters greatly effect their productivity! Proceeds from this Anniversary Party will help fund even more animals to get rehomed, and LHR hopes that through this event more people will be inspired to help foster these animals that really are looking to LHR as their last hope for a happy home.
