Tallahassee is known as a destination for college students, politicians, families and others. Now it's being marketed as a place for baby boomers to retire.
Marjorie Turnbull presented on behalf of "Choose Tallahassee" to the Leon County Commission Tuesday.
It's a group marketing this city as the best place for them to relocate as they retire. Community leaders say Tallahassee has big city amenities with small town charm and they have plans in the works to attract baby boomers to the area.
"We have done a number of things. The most recent is we announced what we're calling "home free" - in which we're going to give a year's free living rent-free home and various other amenities to a couple that makes the decision to retire here in Tallahassee," said Marjorie Turnbull with Choose Tallahassee.
As 20 million baby boomers look to relocate and retire - "Choose Tallahassee" hopes they consider Florida's capital.
