Tallahassee ---

All week, several sheriff’s deputies are at the FSU Reservation to teach a group of 30 young ones from the county some life skills. As part of the Cops and Kids Program, the children will have a chance to have a little outdoor summer fun and participate in activities they normally wouldn't.

Havana Middle School student Kytionna Wooden says, "It's fun! You just get to come out here and have fun - do all kinds of things, make things, rock climb, canoe, kayak, swim and more."

The kids in the camp were selected by their teachers from the Gadsden County School System. The summer camp is being funded by a grant through the Department of Justice.
