MLK Jr. Celebration in Crawfordville

Crawfordville, FL -January 21, 2013

Folks across our area celebrated MLK Day. There was a march in Tallahassee, a parade in Monticello and a party in the park of sorts in Crawfordville.

This is the fourth year in a row Crawfordville has done its MLK celebration in the park.

This year's event included breakfast along with readings and songs from church groups.

Organizers say a big part of the celebration helping others to do what they can to keep King's legacy alive.

"He was a man of service, so that's what we're about; serving, serving our community and making our community better as a whole," said Jennie Jones who helped organize the event.

The celebration is expected to continue on this evening with more events scheduled at Mount Olive Primitive Baptist Church number 2
In all, organizers estimated about 75 people attended this year's celebration.

Crawfordville, FL - The Wakulla County Christian Coalition hosted an MLK Jr Celebration today in Crawfordville.

The Celebration took place in Hudson Park from 9:30- Noon.
