Lowndes County, GA - Only 70 days til Christmas!
The fourth annual "Make Christmas Happen" campaign is getting underway.
The campaign raises money for the 'Shop With A Cop' program which helps provide presents for local kids that wouldn't otherwise get them. The goal is also to help get kids comfortable with law enforcement. Make Christmas Happen is sponsored by the Valdosta Street Sweepers car club which holds annual events to raise money.
Wally Moore, Bassic Audio and Performance: "I'm former law enforcement and I know the way the economy is right now. A lot of parents can't afford to take the kids shopping so to me it's a big thing. You know Christmas was always big in my house so I feel like it should be big in everybody's house as much as possible."
This year they are sponsoring more than two dozen local kids. The next fundraising event will be on December 7th at Lowndes High School.
