PRNA Hosts Ernie Sims Youth Football and Cheer Clinic

Although school is out for summer, learning is still in with the fourth annual Ernie Sims Youth Football and Cheer Clinic, hosted by the City of Tallahassee Parks, Recreations and Neighborhood Affairs (PRNA) Department. The event will take place on Friday, July 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Springsax Recreation Park, 1000 Springsax Drive. As a former City of Tallahassee youth football program participant, Sims holds strong ties to the Tallahassee area. Since his pee-wee football days, Sims has had great success and currently holds a spot on the National Football League team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

Sim's clinics provide hands on instruction for all participants. All involved will learn important tips and strategies to improve their skills and overall football playing and cheer leading ability. In order to insure a positive experience, all clinic participants should come prepared by wearing shorts, t-shirts and football cleats, training or running shoes. The clinics are free for all registered kids ages 7-18, and t-shirts will be given to the first 350 registered kids.

Registration forms and release waivers can be sent to: Ernie Sims Youth Football Camp, 1770 Newman Lane Tallahassee, Florida 32312. Participants can also register on-site the day of the clinic. Registration forms can be downloaded at
