Management says they've replaced the outdated lights on one of the airport's two main runways, enabling planes to now land at nighttime on two landing strips rather than just one.
They say this addition will improve the safety and comfort of flights both landing and taking off from the facility.
Airport Manager Mike Woodham says, "It was an older system that needed replacing and we were fortunate enough to have a real talented crew in our Thomasville Utilities Electrical Department and it was all done in-house."
Woodham told us the project cost about $115,000, and the City of Thomasville footed the bill.
The airport says the majority of its clients are corporations with jets used for business travel.
