Pebble Hill Plantation Museum on Highway 319 opened its new Elisabeth Ireland Poe sporting art gallery.
The collection of paintings are dedicated to the memory of the property's most recent owner.
Museum staff say while the paintings aren't new, their surroundings have been revamped to better display them.
Says museum manager Barbara Cohenour, "People come up here, they look at the paintings, and they go, 'Where did you get these paintings?' and the answer is they've always been here, but there was lots of furniture, and vitrines, and the lighting was poor."
Staff say they hope the new gallery brings more people to the plantation in a time when historic home museums are quickly dying.
