Quitman, Georgia- It has truly been a tragic day for people at Brooks County High school and the entire Quitman community.
The accident happened on Webster Road near the high school around 9:30am. The Georgia State Patrol is currently investigating.
The school system says the three students were rising seniors Jicarre Watkins, Shawn Waters and rising junior Johnnie Parker.
The fourth player Devron Whitfield was flown to Shands hospital in critical condition. His head football coach tells us however that he is recovering and doing fine.
The head football coach told us more about the students who died, with whom he says he was very close.
The coach says they were all linebackers and that was his coaching specialty so he spent a lot of time with them. He says Jicarre Watkins, Shawn Waters and Johnnie Parker were not only good players, but also good people.
The vigil was moved from the cafeteria to the gym because of the overwhelming support for the students.
