Project Backyard Thanksgiving In Thomasville

Thomasville, GA - There was plenty to be thankful for, and plenty to eat for residents in Thomasville.

Everyone was welcome to get a free, hot Thanksgiving meal at the Thomasville High School Cafeteria from noon to 2 p.m. Thursday.

Over the last nine years, Word Dowers Ministries has served more than seven thousand meals to those in need in Thomas County.

This year--along with the organizations Project Backyard and Community Transformation-- they were set to serve 1,000.

Thomasville resident Glenda Golden says, "Oh, it means the world to me. When your family is all grown up and they got family of their own, it's just me and my husband. We come, we eat, we enjoy the fellowship; and they were just is sweet and right there waiting on you hand and foot.

The organizations also held a clothing give-away and food pantry during today's Thanksgiving meal.


Thomasville, GA -- The Thomasville High School Cafeteria at 315 S. Hansell St. will be serving a Thanksgiving meal from 12pm - 2pm.

Over the last nine years, Word Dowers Ministries has served over 7,000 meals to those in need in Thomasville and Thomas County. This year they are set to serve 1,000 meals on Thanksgiving Day to individuals and families in need.
