Valdosta, GA - Some may be rethinking their 4th of July plans with the recent weather. Rain in the forecast threatens to put a damper on many Independence Day plans.
The public fireworks display in Tifton has already been postponed to a date still to be announced.
Folks at Wild Adventures in Valdosta meanwhile, plan to proceed as scheduled.
"The fireworks are the largest and most patriotic display you'll see here in South Georgia and North Florida. It's one of my favorite holidays just because of the fireworks here at Wild Adventures," said Micha Hogan with Wild Adventures.
Their annual display will blast off Thursday and Friday. But what if the rain interferes?
"We have many covered areas for families to enjoy, like our live shows. But if you find the rain does hinder your day you can always visit guest services and inquire about a rain check there," said Hogan.
Then there's the annual fireworks display in Valdosta along Norman Drive the night of the 4th. The best seats are in the mall parking lot. City officials say if they need to they'll reschedule for the next day, Friday.
