SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) -- Savannah children and their parents are trying to break a world record for playing hopscotch.
City officials scheduled an event Sunday afternoon to see if they could set a new record for the most people playing hopscotch simultaneously. To succeed they'll need more than 358 participants, according to the current world record held by London.
The record attempt is part of a larger family event Sunday in which Savannah is closing several blocks of Lincoln Street to traffic to make room for games, live music, a farmer's market and other activities. It's the first of four Play Street events the city plans to have this year.
