Student and adult volunteers from Savannah's Independent Presbyterian Church spent three days (6/23-6/25) repairing and remodeling homes in Live Oak.

Pastor Brad Waller says they choose the work over other options.

Explains Waller, "I tell the kids a lot of times, we're made to serve, and so when they're doing this, they'll experience joy. I tell them all the time, if you want to have a recipe for a miserable life, then focus on yourself."

Homeowner Elane Owens says she feels 'blessed' after getting so much help.

Says Owens, "It's just so expensive for me to try to keep up with today's society and remodel a home. So, by the grace of God, I was able to do it because He sent angels to me."

This is the second year the group has helped the Live Oak community.

Local organization 'Love INC' helps pre-screen homes that volunteers work on.
