FSU student and Pi Kappa Alpha brother Ryan L'Homme died in 2000 after being struck in the temple with a thrown softball while running the bases in an FSU intramural game. L'Homme,
There was a L'Homme brunch on Saturday morning for close friends and family of the L'Homme's as well as all the past recipients of the award. The actual scholarship was given to Ryan Rohloff after the game was over at the PIKE house in Sembler Hall. There were seven guest speakers which included some of Ryan L'Homme's pledge brothers who traveled to Tallahassee for the game and this award. Some of the past recipients spoke as well to let everyone who was at the presentation to know what the award meant to them and how Ryan L'Homme's life has impacted theirs. Ryan Rohloff is proud to have received the scholarship and was very thankful to the L'Homme family for even considering him as someone who carried the traits as their son.
