Gadsden County, FL - Sheriff Young was sworn in Friday morning at the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office.
This will be his third term.
Sheriff Young thanks community members for the opportunity and says he wouldn't be successful without them.
His supporters feel the same way.
Harry Cloud says, "He means a great deal to this community. The last term he didn't have to run; he was unopposed. This time he was opposed. The great turnout of voters showed the people of Gadsden County that he means a great deal to them as their sheriff."
Sheriff Young says he will continue to crack down on crime. He says, "We continue to find ways to keep the numbers down as it relates to murders, traffic fatalities. We're going to continue to make sure that we can put a stop to burglaries. things like that we want to continue to work on to make sure that we keep Gadsden County safe."
Sheriff Young says his goals also include opening a youth community center and moving the sheriff's office into a new building within a few years.
Gadsden County, FL - Gadsden County Sheriff Morris Young is about to be sworn in for another term as sheriff. Young became sheriff in Gadsden County eight years ago. Judge Kathy Garner is performing the swearing in ceremony.
This is his third term. The ceremony is at the Gadsden County Sheriff's Office. Sheriff Young says he is working to make this the best sheriff's office in the country.
