UPDATE 11:28 p.m.
"We are now entering the fourth decade of Golden Gala," said TMH Foundation president Paula Fortunas.
Complete with a red carpet, more than 1,600 people came out dressed head to toe to raise money for Tallahassee Memorial.
A number of projects have come from money raised during these events.
"We have our heart and vascular institute. We have our cancer center. We have the women's pavilion for women and children's services."
The Golden Gala is one of the biggest fundraisers of the year for the Tallahassee Memorial Foundation. Last year alone, they raised almost $998-thousand dollars.
But Wednesday's fundraiser is more than just helping build another wing to the hospital. It's about helping the community grow.
"When you think about quality of life, quality of health is a foundational element," said Mark O'Bryant, TMH CEO and President. And we feel that we play probably the largest role in defining the quality of life in our region."

Tallahassee Memorial Hospital is holding its biggest fundraising event of the season tonight.
Folks are already arriving at the Civic Center for the 31st Annual Golden Gala Event.
Everyone is decked out in their black and white ties, they have a red carpet, everyone is taking pictures and having a great time.
Last year, TMH raised approximately $998,000. This year, TMH hopes to raise over $1 million.
The Golden Gala is also known for its musical guests. Last year, it was Maroon 5; the year before that, Tim McGraw put on a show. This year, Lady Antebellum will be performing.
Almost 1600 people have paid a lot of money to have dinner and see Lady Antebellum tonight at the Civic Center.
This year's Golden Gala theme is "The Sky's the Limit", and that's what TMH hopes that's what the fundraiser will do this evening.
