TALLAHASSEE— Members of the Tallahassee Professional Photographers Guild (TPPG) gathered today to kick off a week long art exhibit at the LeMoyne Center in Tallahassee. Sixteen independent artists have their work on display beginning today and running through Friday, September 7th. The artists are not only displaying their own work, but are also donating their talent and art to help benefit the LeMoyne Center through a week long silent auction.

“Tallahassee has an amazing wealth of photographic artists,” said event coordinator and photographer, Kylene Gay. “As a professional group of photographers, we are excited at the opportunity to not only exhibit our diverse talents, but to also help raise funds for arts education at the LeMoyne Center.”

The week long art exhibit is open to the public and features the work of portrait, wedding and fine art photographers. All proceeds from the silent auction and from entry donations at the exhibition will directly benefit the Art Center.

“As professional photographers, we depend on the Tallahassee community to support our businesses,” said TPPG President and photographer Robin Adams. “We are thankful to Tallahassee for their support of each independent photographer and by rallying together as a group, we can make a great impact and give back to arts education in our home town.”

The Tallahassee Professional Photographers Guild is a local association of professional photographers and an affiliate of the Florida Professional Photographers and Professional Photographers of America. TPPG currently boasts more than 30 professional photographers in its ranks and works to promote the profession of photography through education, training, outreach, networking and recognition. www.TallahasseePhotographers.com
