Tallahassee, FL - Santa dropped by in a new ride this morning. He brought along Mrs. Claus, Rudolph, and a bunch of other friends.

Santa Claus made a visit in a tow truck.

About 25 tow trucks from different companies circled through the back parking lot at Gretchen Everhart School in Tallahassee this morning.

It was the second annual Tow Truck Holiday Parade.

The drivers say this was their way of bringing a little creative excitement to the students.

Student Anfrenee Young says, "It's awesome. Rock on. It's everything and it's Rudolph, Santa Claus, elves, and cookies, and everything. It's fun. What was your favorite part? The big trucks."

Tow Truck Driver, Danny Barthoof, says, "Just the smiles that we get; we named it 'Miles for Smiles' because we drive miles so we can get some smiles. It's real rewarding because that's what it's all about."

There were plenty of smiles out there.

Santa and the crew also passed out presents to the students, and they gave out some cookies, as well.

  • 2nd annual Tow Truck Holiday Parade at Everhart on Friday, Dec. 20th at 9:45. The local organization of Tow Truck drivers wanted to provide a holiday parade especially to those students who are not able to go downtown for the Winter Festival parade due to their disabilities. They provided this parade to us last year and were very touched with how much it meant to the students. They will have Santa Claus and are planning to bring a present to every student and treats for the staff. They plan to parade around our back parking lot at 9:45.
