Acclaimed artist Steve Penley is bringing his paintings to Thomasville.

The Thomasville Center for the Arts is kicking off its 25th season by hosting the Tennessee native's artwork, which highlights iconic people and landmarks from around the world (2/3).

Penley says he is happy to be a part of the recently re-vamped art center, and share his work with the Thomasville community.

Penley spoke with WCTV by phone this afternoon and told us, "I'm very excited and honored to be part of the launch of the Thomasville Center for the Arts ... and [Thomasville is] a great town, and to be asked to be here in the beginning is just really flattering."

Staff at the Center for the Arts say they are excited to have Penley's work, along with art from Rebecca Cabassa, and Thomasville resident Elmo Gideon, who recently died, on display for the public.

The spring exhibitions run from tomorrow (2/4) until April 8th.
