Leon County, FL - Leon County will hold its fifth session of its Citizen Engagement Series on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. The session is called, "Leon County Solid Waste Management: Beyond the Curb, Where Does It All Really Go?" The event is scheduled to be at the Leon County Solid Waste Management facility: 7550 Apalachee Parkway.

The session offers citizens an opportunity to gain greater insight into the operations of the Leon County Solid Waste Management Division and its daily effort to deliver high quality customer service through environmental stewardship and sustainable practices. During the session, activities will include a tour of the landfill, an interactive exercise on hard-to-recycle household products commonly overlooked as nonrenewable materials and a collaborative discussion on the solid waste collection in our community.

The Citizen Engagement Series is open to all Leon County residents.
