Valdosta, GA - Fire fighters are saving Christmas for Valdosta kids who are victims of recent home fires.
The Valdosta Fire Department took 18 area kids on a private shopping spree to Walmart. They each got a $100 gift card to pick out whatever they wanted for Christmas.
The money was raised through donations. Fire Fighters say they just want people to know they aren't forgotten even after the flames are extinguished.
One fire fighter is said to have even paid out of his own pocket when a girl went more than $20 over her limit.
This is the 4th annual Shop With a Fire Fighter event. They say as long as they can keep raising the funds, the event will keep growing.
