Tallahassee, FL -- Any wingnut can tell you that the "Memphis Belle" is a good looking girl. She doesn't fly solo, though, as you'll always see her with her friends Sally and Virginia; the two guns located on the B-17's sides.

The Belle is part of the Liberty Foundation's Salute to Veterans tour, and on Monday, 90 year old WWII pilot Albert Lane got to fly in it one more time.

"It almost makes me cry! It's great! great! really great! I finished 25 missions in it," said Albert Lane, who flew B-17's in 1943 over Europe.

The takeoff was a little bumpy, but once in the air you couldn't beat the view. Of course Albert was as calm as he was when he was flying back in 1943.

The Mephis Belle is one of only 13 B-17's that can still fly, and for at least this flight, it was able to lift the spirit of one of our nation's heroes.

"Well I'm 90 years old...and this is life after 90! Beautiful! Beautiful! I couldn't ask for anything more," said Lane.

Public flights will be available on November 18th, 2012. Call (918)-340-0243 or visit www.libertyfoundation.org for more information on pricing and availability.

Liberty Foundation Release

Tallahassee, FL - "Memphis Belle", a restored WWII B-17 "flying fortress" bomber will take to the skies over Tallahassee on its first national tour, Monday November 12th.

Sixty five years ago these aircraft flew from bases far from home in an attempt to bring freedom to oppressed peoples. Our B-17 & P-40 mission for today is to educate the people of America about the courages WWII veterans, and remember those brave aircrew who never made it home. "Memphis Belle" is a living museum, our heritage not in mothballs or the pages of a dusty book, but real life, three dimensions, here and now. You are invited to come touch the past and fly through ageless skies.

The Liberty Foundations 2012 Salute to Veterans tour will be arriving in Tallahassee at the Tallahassee Regional Airport.( Million Air FBO, 3254 Capitol Circle SW) on Monday November 12th 2012 at 11am for media opportunities. On display will be the famous Boeing B-17 "Memphis Belle".

The aircraft will be open to the public and available for flights and ground tours on November 18th. We will also have two local WWII B-17 veterans out to fly with you on the press flights and available for interviews.

As our B-17 fly's around town this weekend, its famous silhouette and unique sound will draw a great deal of attention. It is only through the news coverage and reporting from our media patrons that allow people to know where to come out to see and experience this ultimate history lesson. It is only through your efforts and the public's support that we can continue to keep the B-17 and P-40 on tour and from being permanently silenced to sit in a museum.
