Tallahassee, FL - September 29, 2012

Walkers in Tallahassee are hoping each step they take helps them get one step closer to wiping out Parkinson's Disease.

About 200 people walked along the Southwood Community as part of 'Moving Day'. They walked between 1 point 1, 2 point 1 and 3 point 1 miles.

The walk raises money for the National Parkinson Foundation's North Florida Chapter to fight the disease.

Parkinson's Disease affects the body's nervous system.

"Most people know Parkinson's Disease, but the community doesn't know much about that. So our organization wants to bring awareness to the community," says Janice Pedler of the North Florida Chapter of the National Parkinson Foundation.

There is no known cure for the disease.

The North Florida Chapter hopes to raise about $30,000 through the walk and donations.
