Tallahassee, FL - Tallahassee is on a new list of the 100 best places to retire...And so is Valdosta!
The list in "Where to Retire" magazine features 16 Florida cities and four Georgia cities. Each profile sums up information on taxes, climate, walkability, housing and health care.
All 100 cities have a few things in common: vibrant downtowns, ongoing education classes, volunteer or part-time work opportunities, walkable neighborhoods, excellent health care, non-extreme weather and advantageous tax situations.
Florida cities making the top 100 list: Boca Raton, Bradenton, Dade City, Fort Myers, Gainesville, Jupiter, Mount Dora, Naples, Ocala, Ormond Beach, Panama City/Panama City Beach, Pensacola, Greater Sarasota, Tallahassee, Venice, Vero Beach.
In Georgia-- four cities on the list: Valdosta, Athens, Brunswick and Savannah.
