"It's awesome, I haven't been here in a while," said park goer Zack Pritchett.
Kids and parents flood the gates on the first day of the Wild Adventures Theme Park season. Between the rides, food and different animals, kids can't help but smile.
"Seeing the giraffes, yeah we love giraffes!" said Cara and Michaelyn.
The local economy also benefits from the park opening for the season, according to park officials.
"On average, we put back about $6 million into the local economy with our employees, with our labor costs, we have several hundred employees when we're fully staffed for the full season so again it's an important part of that economic engine," said Laurie Windham.
In February the theme park hired 350 new employees for the summer months. Officials say they enjoy seeing it come together.
"We've been gearing up, painting, putting fresh mulch out, really getting geared up and getting the rides ready, we're so happy to be open," said Windham.
The park is currently open on Thursdays through Sundays.
