Thomasville, GA - The iconic "Wonder Balloon" made its first ever appearance in Thomasville Wednesday.

More than 100 people showed up to watch the 95-foot balloon inflate and soar 20 feet into the air.

The balloon's appearance celebrates Wonder Bread's comeback after nearly a year of being off store shelves.

People had the opportunity to take photos with the balloon, and a lucky few were even lifted off the ground.

The company says the balloon's appearance is fitting for Wonder bread, since the company is also taking flight again.

"Wonder is a fun family brand for kids and for families," said Keith Aldredge of Flower Foods. "I think it's the perfect venue for giving back to the community and having fun with it."

Flower Foods officials say giving back to the community is part of Wonder's heritage.

Wonder bread has been around for nearly 100 years.
