One Thomas County organization is spreading the joy of the holidays to area seniors.

The Thomasville YMCA held its annual Holiday Dinner today (12/7) at Thomasville High School.

Coordinators say the event helps them reach out to older folks in the community, and provide them with a nutritious meal and company during the holiday season.

Says Wiley Grady, CEO of the organization for Thomas County, "[The seniors] are the people that have made Thomasville a place that is very special, and we feel like we can do this to show them our appreciation for what they have meant to us through the years."

People who attended the event say they enjoyed the good food, but most of all, they liked being able to see one another.

While the "Y" hosts many athletic programs for seniors, they say their doors are open to everyone.
