Hundreds of families from Florida, Georgia and Alabama are visiting the Capital City this weekend.
They're here for a youth soccer tournament.
The Adidas Invitational is Saturday and Sunday. Kids ages nine through 13 will be competing. With 26 teams reserving hotel rooms and eating out, organizers estimate the event will bring 250 thousand dollars to the local economy.
They say youth sports attract more people and therefore, more money.
"When the players come in they bring their parents. And then what we found out at the meadows is that parents often bring grandparents," said Warner Soccer Director Andy Warner.
This is the first tournament of it's kind in Tallahassee. Warner hopes to make it an annual event.

These kids LOVE to be able to travel and play the sport that they love. No team or group was excluded, everyone was invited to participate. C'mon folks, these kids had a ball and totally enjoyed being able to spend a weekend away playing a game with friends. I hope that the tournament is a yearly event and that there are several others each year at the complex....it was fantastic!
Why were so many of our local clubs like CSA and TOF excluded. Is there a little class warfare going on or what
The families that are traveling with their Children to support them are doing that in every sport and they are spending money that has been set aside JUST to support their Children at all ages, whatever game they play and these monies would never be spent in their own community unless there was a tournament there.
