Tallahassee, FL – Jan. 2, 2011 –

DJ DEMP is marking the 15th anniversary of DEMP Week in a major way next week. For the first time in DEMP Week history, DJ DEMP will kick off DEMP Week with Rattler Basketball. DJ DEMP has partnered with FAMU Athletics to include both FAMU Rattler Basketball vs Princeton on Jan 1 and Lady Rattler Basketball vs UAB on Jan 2. DJ DEMP will provide Rattler fans with various DEMP Week giveaways; promote his support of the Boys & Girls Club of the Big Bend and empower students to actively participate in the electoral process at both games held on campus at the Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center.

In true DEMP Week fashion, DJ DEMP has also partnered with mega super star Flo Rida and his International Music Group/Strong Arm to host several DEMP Week events. In addition to Flo Rida, Trina, Bobby V, Marcus Cooper (Pleasure P), Lil Scrappy, Brisco, Model & Creator of KA’OIR Cosmetics Keyshia Dior, Pretty Rickie, Royce Reed, Asante Samuel, Hot Sauce, Poe Boy/Atlantic Records Artist Brianna, Personalities from Hot 104.9 & Blazin’ 102.3 and a host of others are scheduled to celebrate the 15th Anniversary of DEMP Week and most importantly to assist DJ DEMP in carrying out his community initiatives. DEMP Week is scheduled from January 1-9, 2012 at various locations in and surrounding Tallahassee, FL.

In 2005, DJ DEMP, celebrity tour & club DJ was honored with a proclamation from the city of Tallahassee for the community support provided by DEMP Week, which in the beginning started out as a way to celebrate his birthday. Years later and DJ DEMP continues to use DEMP Week as a way to support various community initiatives and charity organizations. In 2012, in addition to the annual celebrity basketball game, concert, fashion show, and comedy show, DJ DEMP has announced The Boys & Girls Club of the Big Bend as his 2012 Celebrity Basketball Game Charity Partner. Portions of the games proceeds will benefit the organization. DJ DEMP’s community initiative also includes two voter registration drives on the campus of Florida State University & Florida A&M University. (Complete schedule of events listed below)

Realizing the importance of handling his business early in his career, DJ DEMP was the DJ who rented out the club and promoted his own party oppose to just being hired to DJ. DEMP also worked as a mixshow DJ at stations such as Florida State's WVFS 89.7, Clear Channel’s WBWT 100.7 the Beat but constant calls to hit the road with recording artists made DJ DEMP realize holding down a mixshow would be close to impossible. DJ DEMP toured the world with artist such as Trick Daddy, Uncle Luke, Juvenile, Lil Flip, David Banner and many more. He has appeared on Carson Daly, BET 106 & Park and was nominated for DJ of the Year by Radio One Dirty Awards joining the ranks of DJs such as Irie, Drama, Michael Watts and more.

While touring, DJ DEMP networked and maintained strong relations with many celebrities. DEMP would invite these same celebrities to Tallahassee in 1998 when he decided to have a weeklong party to celebrate his January 9th birthday. Celebrities such as the Nappy Roots, Twista, Lisa Raye, Rick Ross, George Clinton, Trick Daddy, Juvenile, Field Mob, Jae Millz, Red Rat, So So Def, the And 1 Mixtape ballers, the owners of FUBU and so many more have participated in the annual event. DEMP Week has grown from a week long party to an event that raises money and awareness for various charity based organizations and community initiatives.

I'm really trying to understand why such hatred towards this man? What has he done to you people personally to make you ride on him so hard? I mean seriously, what's the problem? The club is gonna be open before and after his birthday. Artists are in the city before, during, and after his birthday. So what is the big deal with this?

It's cool though. We don't be saying nothing when FSU play and their rude fans be drinking, falling all out in the street, screaming and yelling all night long getn Plastered! The alumni walking up and down the road, having lake bradford on lockdown. But we ask for one week other than FAMU Homecoming which is only for three days and it's a problem! Tell me other than these two times out the year do you actually see us having any events? I'll wait!

You all are so miserable and evil!! I guarantee the ones that's making these comments are the ones that make all the negative comments on every story!! So sad, are you mad that a black male could be this successful? Meanwhile your stuck working 9 to 5 and wish you could do something you enjoy or always dreamed of doing?! It really doesn't matter how one turns out in life if they're black huh? They're still considered as a thug! Answer this question for me,why is there so many rapist, molesters, drunk drivers, husbands that kill wives and kids to be with there mistress, and incest in your race? Oh, but you guys were raised up so perfect! Right

Ignorant, Just ignorant to talk about this man in such a way. He is who he is, but one thing he is not is some drugged out thug turning the capital city into a hell hole like you proclaim. At least he is doing something to bring money into this town for the kids. What are you doing besides sitting back criticizing? It's his Birthday, he could make this entire week about celebrating for him, but as your ignorant blind selves can see he is not. Jealous much?
