Tallahassee, FL -- Florida State University awarded its 15th consecutive Pathfinder Award to Briana Frapart, a recent BFA graduate of the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts.
The recipient of the Pathfinder Award is decided by the College of Motion Picture Arts' faculty, and the award was presented and funded by Samantha Strickland, CEO of Pea Green Solutions. “Investing in talented newcomers is a priority to us at Pea Green,” said Strickland. “This is one way in which we can give back as creative professionals and reap future rewards as dedicated film lovers!”
Briana Frapart entered the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts with a passion for movies, film scores, and a desire to work with performers. During her freshman year, she was the unit production manager on the Student Emmy award-winning film, "Picture Day," which fueled her dream of becoming a film producer.
She has worked on other student films in positions such as production designer, editor, cinematographer, and casting director. She is currently working as a freelance producer, talent manager, and casting director.
Briana intends to use the $2,500 cash award to pursue her film production dreams, specifically in South Korea: "For the past several years, I have developed a strong love and admiration for the Korean arts, both movies and music, so the culture heavily inspired my choice to direct a film in Korean," she states. "I'm familiar with the language and working on becoming fluent so that I can travel to Korea and work on productions there."
Briana was thrilled when she found out that she won the Pathfinder Award: “The thought of having the opportunity to finally be around filmmakers and artists that heavily inspire me is unreal. I can't say enough how grateful I am for this award because it will bring me that much closer to my dream.”
