...to the Wakulla Wildlie Festival at Wakulla Springs. No pushing, not near as crowded, more relaxing and no grand marshall scottie boy.

so for those that love the gov.. you must approve of his levying drug testing on state employees adn giving the business to his wife. Oh and the State has so much extra money to pay for this testing.. what a waste. Next he will be signing his wifes business up for the welfare drug testing as well. I can see this is going to be a long 4 years with the "gov" lining his pockets.. NOT yours.. unless of course you are on is private corp payroll or his highly paid Gov't committees

I met him at the run. If you are not doing drugs, you should not mind being tested. In over thee decades ofnworkingnwith the state, I was never tested, but would not have been upset if I were.

I have never done drugs- never even tried them but I do mind being tested. This is not random drug testing we are talking about. He has ordered that EVERY employee be tested at LEAST once EVERY 3 MONTHS. The only thing random is you don't know when or how many times over once you will be tested each quarter. This is wasteful and is harassment. It also won't stop there. I'm not overly worried- it has already been determined by a FEDERAL judge to be unconstitutional and it will likely end up before the same judge again with the same result. Taxpayers, pull out your wallets- you are about to have a bunch of legal fees to pay.

My family and I WILL be attending the parade and festivities even though we do not agree with Rick Scott's politics. This parade is about Tallahassee, not Rick Scott, and I love my town more than I hate the Gov. This is exactly the time we should be celebrating/showing off our town! I will be enjoying the weather downtown this Saturday!!

Springtime Tallahassee? Saturdays are supposed to be happy time. I don't want Rick Scott to ruin my weekend.

Google "Solantic lawsuits". Actually read the articles. This is the kind of job this man does for people. He is no different than Pelosi and company. The lawsuits have already started and the taxpayers will have to pay for them. I was a lifelong Republican until now. I have changed my party affiliation. This party no longer shares the values it once did. It is now run by greed and revenge.

From your post, John, you seem to think that the rest of us...State employees included...aren't taxpayers as well. The only ones not paying their fair share is big business and, yet, they are again rewarded. Our family will NOT attend this year's Springtime Tallahassee. It's bad enough that we have to read about the destruction of the economy in Tallahassee. We don't have to ruin our weekend by seeing the person responsible for the destruction. Economy in Tallahassee...going down.

I bet you do... and what about of the money his family scheduled to make by wasting your tax dollars by levying drug testing on State employees and giving the business to his wife. Oh yes and the drug testing for welfare recipients and that test money will go to his wife... you on his payroll to it seems

Apparently the druggies are afraid of tests resulting in their being fired. When you sign up for public service, you agree to abide by the rules! There has always been the possibility of drugntesting as part of your employment.

Enjoyed meeting him and getting my picture taken with him on the cell phone. He is in pretty good condition, having done the torch run and this 5 K today. He beat me, but he is about 20 years younger.

I know our group will not be attending Springtime Tallahassee this year, or any other years. We stood by them many years for past issues, but absolutely cannot tolerate this choice. It showed their true colors and disrespect for the majority of this town.

Thanks- I had already decided my family would not attend due to this very reason. I'm glad to see there are others who are like-minded. Hope the word gets out.

Our family will not be attending this year. Springtime Tallahassee choosing someone as Grand Marshall that has shown nothing but disdain for Tallahassee is disgusting.

Our friends and family are going somehwere else this morning and will be spending our approx. $200 in another area of the capital region. If you support this organization and parade and you live in Tallahassee, shame on you. Your lives, public and private sector, will change drastically on July 1 and Jan. 1.
