The Big Bend Hospice hosted its first 'We Remember' tribute Sunday
The event honors people on the Tree of Remembrance from any of its twenty six locations throughout the eight counties. Each name was read out loud to the chime of a bell from the USS Constant a Navy minesweeper from the 1950's.
"The remembrance tree is something we have done for seventeen years just to give people in this community and the eight counties that surround Leon County to honor those that have made a difference in their life," says Pam Wilson of the Big Bend Hospice.
About a thousand names were read during the during the ceremony. The Big Bend Hospice Choir also performed along with the Tallahassee Bag Pipe Band.
