Frenchtown Celebrates Black History

The celebration of Black History month is underway in Frenchtown.

As dozens gathered inside the Lawrence-Gregory Community Center. Listening to song and dance while hearing motivational speakers talk about the importance of youth. And how they can make a difference in today's community.

"Each generation is designed and has a divine purpose to go higher in life. To elevate the community as well as themselves as individuals. That's why history is so profound because it takes us to higher heights," says Gregory Grady.

The event was free and open to the public. It featured song and dance from the F.A.B.U.L.O.U.S. Step/Dance Team and Black on Black Rhyme

    It is a sad truth: No matter what black people do or accomplish in life they will never get full credit from white people. White people will always have something negative to say.

    The whole month is now racists and race baiting occures and hurts my feelings and my rights it must be stopped so we all can just be Americans 1st. for a change. (smile)

        Faith in the year 2012 it has become unbecoming to play or use the "I" card as its got way passed old IMO.
