A state-wide competition is now accepting nominations for Georgia residents passionate about preserving history.
Georgia Trust's 2011 Preservation Awards honor Georgians who have made a difference by helping save historical locations in their parts of the state.
Different categories for entry include:
- Excellence in restoration
- Preservation service
- Excellence in Restoration
The Georgia Trust says this competition is a way to thank dedicated individuals and organizations who work to keep the state's history alive.
For a nomination form, visit www.GeorgiaTrust.org, or call (404) 885-7817. Forms must be e-mailed or postmarked by no later than December 6, 2010. Winners will be notified in the spring, a few weeks before the public finds out the results.
An awards ceremony will be held in early April in Macon for winners.
