A good meal and a little conversation can go a long way with a child.

That's the hope tonight for dozens of parents with the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend.

Right now, parents are eating dinner with their children. This may not seem too out of the ordinary, but its something organizers here with the Boys and Girls Club say can make a big difference to a child.

The dinner is just this month's parent involvement event, but the Boys and Girls Club try to do an event like this every month.

If you'd like to find out how you can volunteer or donate to the boys and girls club of the big bend, you can just give them a call.

Showing a child you care can be as simple as simply eating a meal with them.

And that's just what's happening tonight with the Boys and Girls Club of the Big Bend, an organization that helps hundreds of children.

The Boys and Girls Club of Big Bend serves more than six-hundred children, ages 5 to 18.

Tonight is their monthly event that encourages parent involvement.
It's a dinner in which some of the kids actually help prep the dinner for their parents.

The Boys and Girls Club does so much for hundreds of kids across the big bend.

The non-profit organization serves kids and teens in Leon and Gadsden counties after school and all day during the summer, keeping them safe and out of trouble.

They opened their doors in 1992 and organizers say they have since made it their mission to inspire and enable all young people... To reach their full potential in life.

The goal of these monthly events with parents is to encourage parent involvement, which organizers say is a big help in their goal to help a child in any way they can.
