StarMetro Awarded Grant

Upgrades are coming soon to StarMetro's service.

The transit service was awarded a one point two million dollar grant by the U.S. Department of Transportation.

StarMetro says the grant be used to upgrade its software and to establish a one-stop transportation resource center allowing disabled, low-income, senior and veteran customers to schedule trips easier.

StarMetro estimates it may take about eighteen months before these new services are implemented.

This is such a waste. This is why USA is going bankrupt- we continue to throw money at useless programs. On top of that, noone even uses starmetro. Ask yourself, how many time do you drive by a bus stop a see a well kept professional woman waiting for the bus. How many times have you seen a man in a suit with a briefcase waiting for the bus. NEVER. Now ask yourself how many times have you seen an overweight woman with 4 illigitimate kids, or a smelly/dirty looking person waiting for the bus. We are spending MILLIONS on them?

They need to use this money to expand the bus system so that it runs more smoothly and efficiently. Instead of late and having people standing outside waiting for ever on them. Add more buses and bring back some of the older stops to help accommodate the passengers.

The grants need to be cut out on everything and if the ones sleeping on the public payrolls can't make a breack-even or a profit, shut them down. Any time you have to ride behind one of these block long monotrosities, you burn gallons of fuel for the bus to load or unload one or two passengers on many miles traveled. They block traffic and have it backed up for half a mile. Nothing the city ever does has any brains behind it. Always a loss for the working taxpayers to finance.

If they had all the money in the world, could they figure out how to run the business?

Do you actually ride the bus or are you just complaining?
