FAMU Hosts National Hazing Prevention Week

Keynote Speaker: Gina Lee-Olukoya
Olukoya is the associate dean of Students at the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign supporting Fraternity and Sorority Affairs, New Student Programs and campus traditions. Her research in the area of hazing involves the study of African-American women involved in historically black Greek-lettered organizations, in addition to how African-American women utilize their sorority experience to negotiate issues of gender and race.

WHY:

National Hazing Prevention Week is an opportunity for campuses, schools, communities, organizations and individuals to promote the prevention of hazing. Florida A&M University is doing its part to “strike out” this cruel and demeaning ritual.
