TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Florida State University’s Transportation Services has launched five new services this fall to enhance the overall transportation experience on and off campus for faculty, staff, students and campus visitors.

“We continue to seek innovative ways to provide the university community with transportation when you want it and service when you need it,” said Hunter Hughes, assistant director of the Office of Business Services for Transportation Services.

The new services are:

•TransLoc, a mobile app, allows riders to view real-time location and arrival information of FSU Seminole Express buses. Available at www.fsu.transloc.com or with the mobile browser www.fsu.transloc.com/m, the app can be downloaded by users of the iPhone, Android and Blackberry.

•FSU Tranz is a mobile app that displays the capacity at all six parking garages on campus. It also provides a map of garage locations as well as informative announcements. Android users can download the app now. Apple is expected to release its version for the iPhone by Sept. 5. For drivers without a smartphone, signs outside each garage display the estimated number of available student spaces.

•Torch, FSU’s eighth and newest off-campus Seminole Express bus route, was added due to increased ridership along the Ocala Road/Tharpe Street/High Road corridor. This route travels counter-clockwise to the popular Garnet bus route Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

•West Pensacola Street Parking Garage, the university’s sixth parking garage, opened on July 2. It has more than 1,100 student parking spaces, including four electric vehicle-charging stations.

•Seminole Auto Care is a nationwide emergency roadside assistance program available exclusively to current Florida State students and employees. Memberships are available by the semester or annually. To enroll, visit www.seminoleautocare.com.
