Governors Charter Academy Opens for First Day of School

Tallahassee, Florida- August 20, 2012

A new charter school in Tallahassee opened its doors for the first time today. The Governors Charter Academy started teaching elementary students in the brand new building.

Governors Charter Academy located off of Mahan Drive in Tallahassee houses and teaches kindergarten through sixth grade students. I was there earlier as kids were being picked up for the first time by their parents.

The first day saw long lines to pick up students and recess was held indoors because of the weather but the new building was busy for the first time teaching students.

WCTV tried speaking with Dr. Adriane Peters from the school who was still helping at the end of the day. We hope to hear from her either later this evening or tomorrow about how things are going for the newest school in Leon county.
